I’m Smithy and I’m the disabled woman running Shipshape Smithy.

I have Endometriosis and Adenomyosis and they have given me chronic pain and made me disabled. Photography has become a real lifeline when coping with my health problems. My photos are inspired by different aspects of my life, from my love of watching sport, to the fantasy books I read to the nature in my back garden.

In 2018 I opened an Etsy shop selling handmade laminated bookmarks. Since then, I have switched to photographic and sustainable bookmarks as this is better for my health and for the environment. In 2026 I took the plunge and started selling my photography on other products and this website is the result! I hope that you can see my passion and drive to make this business work through my products.
